Opened in 1662 Smock Alley was the first custom-built theatre in Dublin city and still remains in substantially the same form, making it one of the most important sites in European theatre history.

Getting there - on foot

Smock Alley Theatre is situated on Exchange Street Lower with it’s façade facing on to Wood Quay. Smock Alley Theatre is only a 10 minute walk from Tara Street DART station and 5 minutes from the Jervis Street stop on the red LUAS line. It is a 10 minute walk from O’Connell Street. There are parking facilities at Christchurch and Fleet Street, and we are located near the numerous high quality restaurants and bars in the Temple Bar area.

Smock Alley Theatre has an arrangement with both Fleet Street Car Park and Christchurch Car Park. Delegate can avail of special day rates (9am– 6pm) for these car parks by presenting their car parking ticket at the booking desk at Smock Alley while at the conference.
